About the Program

This program is designed to make studying abroad as easy, enjoyable and educational as possible. We take students step-by-step through the application, passport and visa processes. We find very nice two or three bedroom furnished apartments for our students. When students arrive in Budapest between August 19 and 22, a faculty WSBE faculty member meets each student at the airport and takes them by taxi to their apartment.

For the first week, we meet the city as a group. We learn how to get around the city by public transportation, enjoy walking tours, get acquainted with the folks at Corvinus, have dinner togethers, etc. In essence, we make the transition to your new city as easy as possible. The International Studies Center at Corvinus has a day excursion on Saturday, August 25 to interesting destinations outside Budapest and classes start on Monday August 27.

On September 14 and 15, we have our overnight excursion to Eger, a town about an hour and a half northeast from Budapest (click Weekend Excursions for more details). In addition, we are planning a new excursion to Krakow Poland for mid October this year. Sometime during the semester, we have a more formal night out at the world famous Budapest Opera House, one of the most beautiful opera houses in Europe. Students will select the performance. Finally, we get together again for a Thanksgiving dinner. All these events are included in the tuition price of the program.

Students are welcome to stay in their apartments through Christmas to New Years, but most students leave Budapest around December 20th.
