Budapest Q&A
Q: How many students are usually in the program?
A: The group size ranges from 12 to 16 students.
Q: Are the courses taught in English?
A: Yes, all courses in the program are taught in English.
Q: Are the courses as good as those at the Whittemore School?
A: The European style of teaching is different from what most American students are used to, and classes may be larger. However, the opportunity to learn from faculty and fellow students from across Europe is tremendous.
Q: What is the weather like in Budapest?
A: Most of the time the weather is warmer than in Durham.
Q: What is the cost of the program?
A: You can study in Budapest or in Durham for about the same cost. The price of the airfare is offset by on-campus fees that are waived during your study abroad. Apartment prices are comparable to quad apartments offered by the University of New Hampshire. In general, living expenses in Budapest are lower than in Durham, and significantly lower than in Western Europe. All financial aid you would normally receive transfers to you while in the study abroad program.
