Three, 4-credit-hour elective courses in Hospitality Management (or two 4-credit-hour electives and a 4-credit-hour internship, supervised student teaching, or independent study course) are required for graduation.
A student must have an overall average of at least 2.3 in all major required courses, a minimum grade of C- in each major course, and a minimum of 800-hours of on-the-job, paid work experience in the hospitality industry; 100 hours must be earned through University Hospitality Services after matriculating in the major (UHS is the campus organization that oversees campus dining and campus catering). This work experience may be completed over several summers or during the academic year.
Transfer students practicum hours will be prorated and must be completed after matriculating into the Hospitality Management Department. Please see Practicum requirements for further information.
