MA and PhD in Economics Admission Prerequisites


Admission to the MA program requires completion of the following undergraduate courses:

 

Principles of Microeconomics

Principles of Macroeconomics

Intermediate Microeconomics

Intermediate Macroeconomics

Econometrics

Calculus 1

Calculus 2 is strongly recommended

Admission to the PhD program requires that the applicant has earned a MA in Economics from a US institution. If an applicant has not fulfilled this requirement they will be automatically considered for admission to the MA program. All the credit earned in the MA degree applies to the PhD program and will not extend a student’s length of time in school.
