Suggested Program of Study
A. Complete a BA or BS in Economics including ECON 653, Law and Economics, as an elective economics course.
B. In the freshman and sophomore years, take the following:
- PHIL 412, Beginning Logic
- POLT 407, Law and Society (fulfills section 8 of general education req.)
- HIST 509, Law and American Life
C. In the junior and senior years, take at least 3 of the following, with the actual courses depending on your specific area of interest within the law:
- PHIL 635, Philosophy of Law
- POLT 508, Supreme Court and the Constitution
- POLT 513, Civil Rights and Liberties
- POLT 701, Courts and Public Policy
- POLT 707, Criminal Justice Administration
- POLT 708, Administrative Law
- SOC 655, Sociology of Law and Justice
- HMP 734, Health Law
- FS 794, Families and the Law
- JUST 550-551, Mock Trial (These courses are two credits each and must be taken together to count as one full course)
- MGT 647, Business Law I
- MGT 648, Business Law II
- PSYC 755, Psychology and Law
